When doing this kind of projects, it's clear that not everything will go smooth. In our case, the very first hours proved to be difficult already: Upon arriving in Tallinn, there were no rental cars available, the online booking had failed for some reason, and Marc's, Bettina's and Katerina's first task was to organize a car to actually get to the lake. And a 3G modem from Tele2, in order to be less dependent on functioning WiFi areas in the lakeside villages.
Needless to say, the foreign team wouldn't have managed without strong local support. Mairi donated a car, and after a few hours delay, the trip could start. Rene, who had just arrived to Riga in the very early morning, was waiting there for news when to go to either Tallinn or Tartu, but by the time the car and trip were organized, it was already too late to catch a bus. Initial difficulties hopefully mean that we've already had our share of problems, and the rest of the trip will go smooth.
After the drive to Nina, the team settled in to the wonderful houses that we rent there, and made plans for the coming days. Mairi, who knows the region well, immediately started to be the project scout and a true driving force, calling people and proposing whom to meet first and when.
The houses we're renting for the duration of this trip are absolutely wonderful. Located directly at the lake, with beautiful places to sit and WiFi, cozy and well-designed, and available for a good price. If you ever plan a holiday to this area, check out http://visitestonia.com/en/nina-houses.
Parking instructions, probably by the kids of the houses' owner.
